Nobody can discover the world for somebody else. Only when we discover it for ourselves does it become common ground and a common bond and we cease to be alone.
Wendell Berry
Camila Aguais and John Smalley are artists and teachers of art who have discovered an abundance of common ground through their collegial and multi-disciplinary approach to the making of art and to the education of young artists. Their shared passion for the visual arts, writing, music, dance and performance has encouraged their continuing explorations of a variety of media and the marvels and the mysteries of creative process. In this exhibition, they show works in sculpture, printmaking, collage and assemblage which traverse the many and various intersections between nature and culture, dream and memory, word and image.
